A Sparkling Christmas at Hong Kong Disneyland

Christmas celebrations at Hong Kong Disneyland have been entitled “A Sparkling Christmas” and this runs from 15 Nov 2012 – 1 Jan 2013. The main highlights are Santa Mickey’s Toy-riffic Street Party and the Christmas Illumination.

It was a rainy day when I visited but it didn’t dampen the Christmas mood at the park. 🙂

As usual, there were photo ops with the famous mouse couple at the pavilion just across from City Hall at Main Street, U.S.A.

Hmm…great minds think alike in terms of colour coordination for the holiday season! (^o^)

Chip and Dale were in festive attire too…

…and so was Duffy!

A hugh Christmas tree can be found at Main Street U.S.A.

Christmas wreaths adorn the street.

Came across an elf along Main Street. Look out for her at Santa Mickey’s Toy-riffic Street Party!

This was a Christmas parade featuring only 5 Disney characters.

CHRISTMAS ILLUMINATION

There was a procession of people holding lighted snowflakes and the highlight was a giant sleigh with Disney characters on it! The main stage is in front of the Christmas Tree at Main Street, U.S.A. There was a short display of fireworks too!

It started snowing (foam bubbles) just before the sleigh took off. Be careful not to let any “snow” settle on your camera lens – I had a hard time getting the stain off! (it took about 3-4 rounds of wiping before I finally got it out)

Here’s another look at the Christmas tree at Main Street, U.S.A.

Presents under the tree…

SHOPS

I love that the shop window displays have a Christmas/winter theme.

Even the wallpaper behind the cashier’s counter has a Christmassy feel!

The interior of the shops feel very cozy with the Christmas decor and I guess that makes a conducive atmosphere for shopping! ;D
