Kee Sum Cafe (祺森冰室) at Peng Chau

Kee Sum Cafe (祺森冰室) has been in operation for over 50 years and the current owner is the third generation. Their shrimp toast is highly recommended by many people (even food critics!) so I made it a point to stop by this place to try it when I visited Peng Chau.

We checked out the menu to find out what other items were available…

Their current day’s specials can be found written on the board which was hung on the wall, in the middle of the cafe.

Oh lookie here…I’ve got my hands on some Shrimp Toast (蝦多士)!

These deep fried morsels contained small pieces of shrimp in them. Somehow the dish didn’t have the “wow” factor to me but it is a different kind of toast from those typically sold at other cafes, thus it’s worth trying at least once. Taste is quite personal so who knows, perhaps you may like it more than I did.

My hubby was a little hungrier and ordered the Deep Fried Pork Cutlet with Instant Noodles (吉列豬扒公仔麵). The pork cutlet was crispy and the instant noodles were something which you can cook at home. Anyway, he liked it.
