Givres – the place to go for Rose Gelato

When I saw pictures of pretty rose shaped ice cream, complete with petals, I knew I had to hunt down the shop to try it for myself!

Givres specialises in both artisanal coffee and rose gelato and it is conveniently located at the Wan Chai district on Hong Kong Island.

We had just finished lunch and thus dropped in for dessert. There are some counter seats at the shop, but do note that seating is limited to about 6-7 high stools.

You can choose to have up to three flavours in your rose gelato and I thought one was a bit boring, whilst three could be a bit too much and thus I went with two.

After a tough decision on which flavours to pick, I went with the combination of White Peach and Rose Petals.

My hubby on the other hand opted for Chocolate and Vanilla (boring!). We watched the staff piece together the rose gelatos petal by petal and the end results were very pretty, but my only grouse was that they melted too quickly! (probably also due to the summer heat)
